At Vlisco you will work together with a small Content Marketing team, but you will also be closely working with your new colleagues at Creative, Digital Marketing and your colleagues from the local Marketing teams in Nigeria, Ghana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo.

Key responsiblities:

The graphic designer initiates, develops and implements Vlisco's Seasonal and Non-Seasonal visual expressions in line with the creative visual concept. Is responsible for creating visual communication solutions that are relevant and impactful according to brief and ensuring that Vlisco visual identity are respected by various stakeholders.

Graphic Language/ Concept:

  • Initiate and develop visual strategy in line with creative concepts;
  • Responsible for on brand execution of graphic concepts across channels by all internal/externals;
  • Lead and align graphic solutions with stakeholder (online and other internal departments);
  • Responsible for development of brand identity and original content through research, brainstorming and collaboration;
  • Ensure that there are relevant and enough templates on the Brand Portal to support local teams.

Graphic Design Strategy:

  • Investigates and monitors new trends and developments in graphic design to create new concepts (ongoing research on graphic solutions linking the design position with the brand);
  • Shares up to date current trends in communication and graphic design in the field of fashion;
  • Advises the Content Manager and consults on the MARCOM visual strategy.

Design Process Management:

  • Responsible for studio planning and managing visual work flow with colleagues;
  • Manage, motivate, inspire and lead freelance or in-house designers and dtp’ers to deliver high quality work, on time and in line with brand values/positioning;
  • Provide advice to Activation managers on printing and production solutions;
  • Provide peer-level oversight and controls results from outside suppliers for quality control;
  • Manages external parties involved in the visual marketing process eg printers, re-touchers and editors.

Visual Language Guidance:

  • Guide the implementation of all brand expressions online and offline to ensure consistency;
  • Develop and maintain brand manual to guide all developments.

Requirements

  • Masters in Communication/Art/Graphic design;
  • 3+ years relevant design experience;
  • Relevant professional experience in an (international) organization in (preferably) the fashion & luxury industry;
  • Experience with all relevant software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.;
  • Experience in creating design solutions;
  • Understanding of industry requirements for printing and production;
  • Highly creative and innovative;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • You are good in the English language.
